Dalia has little patience for anything difficult and is prone to venting and small, angry outbursts. Should she ever be betrothed to a man expecting a quiet, submissive wife, he would certainly be in for a surprise. She is not afraid to speak her mind, and often does so without thinking about to whom she is speaking. As much as she may complain or argue, dalia will usually follow orders. She may resent the person who gave the command, but she typically obeys. She responds much better to requests than demands and desires to be respected. She wanted to be able to follow her brothers around while they trained with their various weapons and horses. She would much rather spend her days with her brothers than with her sisters despite her mother’s insistence for her to learn about things a woman should know. Her mother wanted dalia to be a proper lady. Because of that, she learned much about being a lady and she also had the skill to keep up with the boys. At the tender age of ten, she and her family lost dietriech to diphtheria. It was then that reality hit the young girl hard; her eldest brother, amalric, was pressured into stepping into the role of duke of ascalon at a young age and the pressure of having to grow up and respect her father’s memory weighed heavily on the girl’s shoulders. It was then that her mother managed to reign in the young dalia and train her to be a well learned young lady. Once she turned fifteen, her mother managed to get her the position of lady in waiting to the youngest princess, Adelaide. She took to this role well using her less than ladylike skills to defend the princess from those who would tease her. In fact, dalia took to being the princess’s lady in waiting better than she was a big sister to the youngest maulesel child. Dalia found that she loved taking care of the quiet, soft spoken princess and has been faithfully doing so for the past five years.

As a young lady, dalia was not given the opportunity to properly learn how to use any weapon in particular. For a while, all that she knew, she learned from following her elder brothers. When she became lady in waiting for Princess Adelaide, she started to learn the art of archery. Dalia would prefer to leave the physical violence to people like her brothers and the other knights of etrias. She would much rather fight with her words.
