03/22/09 - I got tired of the old skin so MD now has a new makeover.
06/11/09 - The new kingdom of Amaranth has been added.
06/11/09 - Plot has been updated.

Spring has come! Everywhere, green is growing from the ground and life seems to return to the people. It's been unusually warm with temperatures as high as the mid 80s but during the night time, it gets as cold as the low 60s. Thunderstorms are common so be sure to fix those leaky roofs!

Wild Lands
[ ]Amber Flats
[image]
A large plains area bordering Aronsdale and Suncroft, it is often a meeting point between the two castles. Back when the two kingdoms were warring with one another, Amber Flats were often a place of battle and confrontations. Now that the two castles are in a time of peace, the Flats are a crossing place between the two castles, usually just commoners heading to one anothers market or messengers heading to the throne room of the other castle.

[ ]Brinkstar Pass
[image]
The mountain range separating Aronsdale and Suncroft, on both sides of Amber Flats has a break in them, a pass commonly used by the armies in the past, but now commoners and travelers in today's time. The pass can be dangerous during the winter, fllling quickly with snow and making passage difficult. In the summertime, the trip is beautiful, the trees and flowers along the trail brightening the way.

[ ]Cresent Swamps
[image]
Constantly covered in water, these swamps are dense and humid at all times. Even through drought times, you'll end up in water up to your calves. There are sudden drops that you won't see, so be careful. No one knows what lurks in the deeper waters of this swamp, were you fall in up to your waist or shoulders. Though never proven true or false, there have been tales of alligators able to swallow horses and snakes as round as a grown man.

[ ]Ibya Forest (1 sub-board)
Ibya forest is truly wild. The vegetation here grows thickly and the trees so closely together that it would virtually be impossibly for a horse to travel through. It is, however, rich in wildlife as it creates a peaceful sanctuary for animals that can manuver through its labyrith. There are a few trails that go partly through the forest but beware, its shadows hide danger.

[ ]Moon Song River
[image]
Moon Song River, commonly called "Border River" by the people, marks the border of Stonce and Harsdown, the limits of the reaches of Aronsdale and Suncroft. Although it is technically free territory, there are often disagreements between the people from rival countries over fishing rights.

Suncroft Grounds
[ ]Castle Suncroft (5 sub-boards)
Welcome to Suncroft Castle. Inside it's stone corridors and winding passages, it is easy to get lost unless you know your way around. Secret halls and staircases take you to hidden rooms and secluded towers. Guards and knights are plentiful in it's tapestried halls and the throne room is not lightly guarded. You had better have a reason to be inside, or you'll be questioned and thrown out for sure.

[ ]Suncroft Arsenal
[image]
A building made of huge boulders and a titanic door made of a heavy metal stands solid against the outside. Knights are always nearby, watching it just in case. Inside, the best weapons for the Suncroft armies are stored. It is separated from teh castle and other buildings of the kindgom, and is extremely well hidden. Only the royal family and the leaders of the Suncroft troops know of its secret location.

[ ]Forest Cabin
[image]
A secluded forest cabin made of enormous logs is hidden in a clearing in the woods just outside the SUncroft Kindgom. It is mainly used during the hunts in the fall, but is also used occasionally by the royal family for some time away. The Queen enjoys spending a week here every once in a while, and there is always a large herd of forest deer nearby, sticking around the tiny pond a few yards away.

[ ]Suncroft Stables
[image]
Recently rebuilt after a fire, the Suncroft stables are of the newest fashion, with huge stalls, wide aisles, and a well equipped tack and feed room. Down the aisles of these lovely stables, the royal horses alongside war horses, pop their heads over the half doors, waiting for their lunch. Outside, is a large arena to ride and train in, as well as a few corrals and huge pastures for the horses. A meandering trail cuts through the forest, following a breathtaking path to a peaceful clearing and creek.

The dueling ring is free for everyone to use. It is a perfect Circe in diameter and have strong sturdy walls. The stadium can hold up to a thousand people. It has under ground resting chambers, which can be used for preparing for a battle, sanctuary for when a battle has finished and also if any injuries that may be experienced they can be treated in the Resting Chambers.

Stonce
[ ]Thinton (1 sub-board)
A major city in Stonce, Thinton is only a day's ride away from the castle. In the city are several marketplaces with limitless goods and unique shops with even more unique shop owners. Take a look around and you're guaranteed to meet some of the most interesting people you'll ever speak to.

[ ]Nightengale Glen
[image]
A smaller town, Nightengale Glen is about five days ride from Thinton, a little farther west than the rest of the cities. It is a six day ride from the Suncroft Castle, but well worth the trip for the beauty and peace of the area.

Aronsdale Grounds
[ ]Aronsdale Castle (5 sub-boards)
Once a castle that revolved around building up armies and continuing warfar, the past rulers of the Aronsdale Castle only had one thing on their mind: Take over Suncroft and claim its lands and kingdom for their own. Now that the two castles are in a peaceful time, the castle must make its way into this transition, wartime into peaceteim. Shops must open back up and the people must change back to a normal way of life, with markets and friendly travels of the surrounding lands now that centuries of war against Suncroft has been paused. The two castles are not allies, by any means, but no longer are they mortal enemies willing to fight to the death without question or second thought.

[ ]Aronsdale Arsenal
[image]
As with Suncroft's Arsenal, the Aronsdale Arsenal is well hid and well guarded. Larger than that of Suncroft, since this castle revolved around wartimes for so many centuries, its massive stone walls reach higher into the sky and the building itself is larger. Inside is an expanse of the best weapons of the day, ready to be put to use at a moments notice, though most weapons have recently been replaced inside, the door locked, and knights put on guard. Only the royal family and the leaders of the Aronsdale forces know of its coveted location.

[ ]Aronsdale Stables
[image]
A slightly older stable than that of Suncroft, it still serves its purpose well. The stalls are filled with more war mounts than royal horses, but all their noble heads rest over their half doors, watching as knights and stable hands parade in and out. With four training arenas, two corrals, and a large field, the training for horses at Aronsdale is very well equipped and ready to take on the biggest challenge horses.

Harsdown
[ ]Croft's Vale
[image]
The largest town in Hardown, Croft's Vale is under Aronsdale rule. Of the two cities outisde Aronsdale, Croft's Vale is the one with the markets and stores. The royalty rarely make an appearance, but send servants to do the shopping and such for them. Any goods that could be needed can be found here, from livestock to vegetables to jewelry and pottery.

[ ]Jacob's Vale
[image]
More rural than its companion city of Croft's Vale, Jacob's Vale, is also under Aronsdale rule. The small town of Jacob's Vale is mostly inhabited by small farmers and their families and livestock, raising animals and crops they take to sell in Croft's Vale. Nobility has only made a handful of trips to this part of the world, but the people who live here are generally welcoming to anyone who passes through, happily and readily offering a room and a meal to strangers who need one.

Ithir Mountains
[ ]Vanguard Ridge
[image]
Vanguard Ridge is one of the few roads going through the Ithir Mountains. It is definately the most used. Horses can be rudden about halfway up but as the land gets more rugged, the use of steeds become useless. The higher you get, the colder it gets. It snows year round near the top of the pass, lighter in the spring and heavier in the winter. Trees are everywhere. Though this is a well worn road, there is not always people in sight. Wary traveler beware, bandits like preying on passerbys.

[ ]Athulia Woods
[image]
The woods that cover the mountains can more accurately be described as a lare, expansive forest. At the base of the mountains, leafy trees fight for sunlight, blocking it all out. As you get higher, pine trees become more and more common. The trees thin out near the snow tipped peaks where it is cold year round. Traveling through these woods are not recommended due to the large number of vicious animals that inhabit it.

[ ]Devil's Bluff
[image]
If your courageous enough to brave a few miles into the wood just off the path from Vanguard Ridge, you may come across Devil's Bluff. It's a hard climb up to this large cliff but the view you will get is worth it. From the cliff, you can see miles of trees and a patch of sapphire ocean in the far distance. However, be warned -- the cliff looks like it can break off the mountain side at any given moment.

[ ]Blackridge Pass
[image]
Blackridge Pass is the other road that leads from the outskits of Aronsdale to Amaranth. It is fairly level but lacks beautiful scenery. All a traveler can see is literally miles and miles of stone. The ground is stone. The walls that rise from the mountain is made of jagged stone. Mountain sheep inhabit the upper level of the pass where the land is even more rugged than Vanguard Ridge. They frequently dislodge rocks that are big enough to kill unsuspecting wanderers below. The pass is scattered with the bones of those who've triedd crossing it and it is rumored that their spirits haunt the place.

Amaranth
[ ]Amaranth Castle (5 sub-boards)

The royal castle of Amarath looks more like a fortress than a castle. It is mounted on a high hill that appears to overlook everything. The castle has a dark stone wall that circle the castle, protecting it from attack. Closer to the castle, there is another wall, but it is merely the foundation for the castle. Amaranth Castle is made up of dark brown stone that is very thick. Knights and guards patrol the castle constantly.

[ ]Amaranth Arsenal
[image]

Once an average armory, the Amaranth Arsenal is expanding. For what no one knows. However the arsenal has been hidden from site, and only the king and his generals know where it lies. Weapons have been stockpiled behind its giant doors and gray stone walls. Only the most trust guards are sent to keep watch over this valuable asset.

[ ]Amaranth Stables

A fine stable built to house the royal horses and war mounts. Outside of the barn is a fenced ring used to train and ride the equines. Beyond that is a vast field used for battle simulations to train the war horses.

[ ]Amaranth Dueling Ring
[image]

A large, Coliseum like stadium built to be used for tournaments and training. The stadium is split into three parts: swordsmanship, jousting, and archery. Each section is dedicated to its given field. During a tournament, the stadium can accommodate the majority of Amaranth’s citizens, but there is a fenced area for those who didn’t get seats.

[ ]Reryrdel Glen
[image]

This small farming village grows the crops of Amaranth. Though only a handful of families live here, the village is sprawling with farmland. It’s a simple little place where one would go for peace and quiet. After the harvest, the farmers transport their crops to Inere to be sold or exported. The village is only a day’s ride from the castle.

[ ]Inere
[image]

Nestled by the Laeriel Sea, this bustling port city is home to most of Amaranth’s citizens. Merchants sell there wares in the market place or ship them off to a foreign land while fisherman reap the sea of fish. Salt is extracted from the sea and sold by the pound to people all over Amaranth for a decent price. Aside from maritime wares, many other professions prosper in Inere. Blacksmiths make weapons from the iron taken from the mountain, and weavers create beautiful fabrics from silken threads that were imported from afar. The city's harbor holds the vast royal fleet which protects Amaranth from foreign invaders and pirates.

Oceania
[ ]Laeriel Sea
[image]

The clear, blue waters of the Laeriel Sea border the kingdom of Amaranth. The sea is a vital part of the kingdom’s culture and prosperity. Most of the time, the waters are calm. However when a storm hits, the sea unleashes it oceanic fury, creating titanic waves to assault the harbor of Inere. The sea is plagued by a few pirates that wish to control its waters.
